Our Mission
Aka`ula Cat Garden is dedicated to rescuing and providing shelter for abandoned homeless house cats. Our mission is to find loving homes for every one of them or care for them the rest of their lives.
Our History and Facility
We opened our doors January 2012 to unwanted, abused, abandoned and homeless house cats. We are a no-kill shelter and sanctuary that provides life-long homes for these cats. We are the only cat shelter, sanctuary and adoption center on Molokai and located in Kualapuu. Our 70+ cats live in an outdoor/indoor, enclosed, fenced area. It is a garden like setting where they are free to run and play, climb trees and lounge in the sun. All the cats and kittens are healthy, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, friendly and socialized.
Senior cats for senior laps
We’ve been open for over 10 years and many of our cats have been with us from the beginning. Cats are considered “senior” when they are 10 years old and we have quite a few seniors! Many love to snuggle on a lap or close by. At this age they make great companions. They are waiting for a home where they can be the center of attention. We are looking for someone to adopt or foster these loving cats. We will provide Boarding if you need to go off island and we will be their guardian if something happens down the road.
